Tourism Research Agenda
The Tourism Research Agenda serve as a framework to identify, guide and inform current and future tourism research priorities and needs, with a view to inform policy, planning, interventions and decisions-making in the sector. It aims to outline a framework for making decisions about current and future research priorities. Also important is to identify existing knowledge and gaps in tourism research; prioritise research themes and focus areas; align research efforts; and create an opportunity for future research collaboration among various tourism stakeholders. The most recent Tourism Research Agenda: 2024/25-2026/27 was formulated through a consultative process with different stakeholders in the tourism sector. It further provides overarching research themes and focus areas to enhance research capacity, thereby equipping the sector with evidence-based information and knowledge required to plan for current and future challenges and interventions.
