WELCOME TO THE DEPARTMENT OF TOURISM RESEARCH REPOSITORY

The Department identifies research as a critical area to advance the development, growth and sustainability of the tourism sector. Since 2012, the Department has been collaborating with public institutions of higher learning and research to conduct tourism research and offer financial support to post-graduate students pursuing tourism-related studies in these institutions. The outputs emanating from the research studies are disseminated through the Tourism Research Repository. The repository is an open digital platform that manages, disseminates and provide access to research outputs. It aims to facilitate ease of access to the research agenda; research publications, student publications and research seminar information. The main goal of the repository as an information dissemination platform is to encourage public consumption and utility of evidence-based information to inform, among others, planning, policy, interventions and decision-making; to avoid duplication and wastage of research; as well as to ensure that valuable research is disseminated widely for the benefit of society and the tourism sector in general.
